My favourite charity is Ethiopiaid, particularly for its work in supporting the Addis Ababa Fistula Hospital. They say £100 pays for an operation that usually restores the health of a woman whose body has been almost destroyed by childbirth. I doubt many charities do more with your cash.

Not on the bed? That's what we tell our recued Airedale, too. Good luck!
And the "blogged dog" is graceful indeed. Years and years ago I remember watching a "protojogger" out on Hampstead Heath on occasional Sundays, accomplanied by a greyhound who was obviously throttling back so as not to make the poor human feel quite so slow. Each was the other's boon companion; I hope that both of you have found yours.

An Airedale lying quietly down the foot of the bed is one thing, a greyhound who is as long as I am tall is something else ....
And the advantage I have re the bedroom is that I can shut the door when I go out.
